MINUTES OF 7TH CORE GROUP QUARTERLY REVIEW MEETING OF ALLIANCE FOR
ADAPTATION & DISASTER RISK REDUCTION

A Quarterly meeting of core group under AADRR was held on 13th April, 2010 at SEEDS India Office, New Delhi.

Various issues have been discussed during the meeting. Main points are as follows:

Alliance Registration: - The names of directors have been approved by Min. of
Corporate Affairs. The title “Alliance for Adaptation and Disaster Risk Reduction” is also
approved by the Registrar of Companies.

Membership: Alliance has received nine fresh membership applications between Jan to
March 2010. With these new applications, the membership has now increased to 178
members.

Web update: Recommendations on NRHM, JNNURM, SSA, linkages with DRR, have been
uploaded on the NADRR website.

CDRF: CDRF activities should preferably be expanded to the areas having visible impact
of the changing climate.

DRR Mainstreaming in NREGA: It was discussed that NREGA, with huge budgetary
allocation could be instrumental to mitigate risk and vulnerability through proper DRR
mainstreaming.

Other issues:Manu requested the core group members that they had to plan rigorously
for National forum and further discuss and promote the alliance via advocacy. It was high
time to see the things through the DRR lens.
